A report from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on Tuesday revealed that the Cleveland Cavaliers discovered the identity of the fan who used racial slurs toward San Antonio’s Patty Mills. The incident occurred during Cleveland’s Sunday clash against the Spurs, a game the Cavs dropped 110-94. During the game’s broadcast on ABC, the fan was heard yelling “Hey, Jamaica called, they want their bobsledder back!”. Since then, the fan has been banned for an indefinite period of time and will have his case reviewed after at least one year’s time.
The Cavs have identified the person who heckled Patty Mills, according to a Cavs spokesman. He has been banned from Quicken Loans Arena indefinitely, with a review to come after a period of one year.

Mills spoke out on the situation Monday:
Thanks @thats_Z_Truth. I am a proud Islander. Like my Jamaican Brothers, me & my family in the islands of the Torres Strait have experienced racial slurs for decades. Hope your efforts will enlighten this confused, hateful fan. #BlackHistoryMonth https://t.co/yH3nKlGv4A
