Cavaliers fall to Warriors, 99-92, in Christmas rematch; three takeaways

3. A not so merry Benchmas

The Cleveland bench outscored Golden State’s, but it still isn’t the type of offensive production the Cavs have grown accustomed to from the bench that was averaging 40.6 points coming into Monday’s game.

The bench combined for just 21 points on 6-of-26 shooting, which frankly, is not enough to top the Warriors. In order to beat them, there needs to be as much scoring diversity as possible to space out what is one of the top team defenses in the league.

Tristan Thompson looked lost offensively at times, while Kyle Korver and Jeff Green scored just three points each. Channing Frye did not play.
