Carrasco K’s 10, Moves to 7-4 as Indians Sweep Brewers with 3-1 Win; Three Takeaways

2. More Magic from the Pen

The Indians bullpen has a long way to go to settle people’s nerves once the starters leave the game, but Wednesday was another step in the right direction, as the threesome of Neil Ramirez, Oliver Perez and Cody Allen combined to go the final two innings for the win.

Ramirez and Allen both pitched the last two days, and while Allen gave up a run on Tuesday and Ramirez a lead off single on Wednesday, both have been impressive the last two days.

Perez could find more chances out of the pen if he can come in and do like he did on Wednesday, striking out dangerous Travis Shaw to clear the way for Allen to enter the game and get the four-out save.

For Allen, it’s two saves in less than 24 hours, not an easy feat against a very good first place Brewers team that can do damage at the plate.
