Carrasco K’s 10, Moves to 7-4 as Indians Sweep Brewers with 3-1 Win; Three Takeaways

1. A Bounce Back for Carlos

The last two outings for Carlos Carrasco were not so good, allowing five runs on seven hits to the Astros on May 26th, and June 1st he was beat up by the Twins for six runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings.

After the key out in the second on Cain, Carrasco seemed to get more focused, as while he allowed four hits and a walk along with a run the rest of the way, he was more poised than the last two outings in which he seemed off most of the day.

The 10 K outing was the 17th career outing in which Carrasco had struck out 10 or more batters, and in two games against the Brew Crew this year he struck out 24 batters in 16 innings.

On the day he went seven innings, allowing one run on seven hits with the 10 K’s and now at 7-4 his ERA sits at 4.23 on the season.
