Cleveland-native Carlton Bragg Jr. will transfer out of Kansas following his sophomore season.
The 6-foot-10 Villa Angela-St. Joseph alum still has not decided on a new school, but released a statement announcing the decision:
I really enjoyed my time here at Kansas. Kansas has the best fans and I do love the program. This past year didn’t go as well as I thought it would and it’s in my best interest to get a fresh start. I want to thank my teammates, coaches and the fans for all their support these past two years. I will always cheer for the Jayhawks.”
Bragg averaged 5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 13.8 minutes per game during a rough 2016-17 season in which he was suspended for four of 35 games for “a violation of team rules.”
He did not play in Kansas’ Elite 8 loss to Oregon and the decision to transfer means he will have to sit the 2017-18 season, but can play two seasons afterwards.
