The 2017 Brunswick Blue Devils, under new Head Coach Mark Pinzone, look to rebound off of a 2016 season in which the Blue Devils were only able to secure two wins, including one in the GCC. They have a combined record of 5-15 over the last two seasons, after being a perennial playoff contender for many years.
Pinzone, who teaches at Brunswick, was the head coach for the last four seasons at Buckeye High School and led the Bucks to the State Playoffs in every season and hopes to bring playoff football back to Brunswick in the very near future.
New this season, Pinzone is bringing back the spread offense which brought Brunswick many winning seasons in the past even though the team is only returning five starters from the 2016 team, all seniors.
Although the 2017 schedule may be rough for the young Blue Devils, with games against the likes of Mentor, Solon, Euclid, Medina and of course county line rival Strongsville, the team will likely surprise a lot of people and win more than a handful of games.
