Terrelle Pryor had a solid performance against the Green Bay Packers in the Browns first preseason game last Friday. The young quarterback turned receiver is improving every single day and showed his improvements early when he caught a 49-yard pass from Robert Griffin III on the team’s first offensive drive, along with an 8-yard out-route to convert a third-down.
After the game Pryor told his coach and the media that he suffered a left hand injury during the game and believes it won’t prevent him from playing against the Falcons. He went and had X-rays taken and the results came back negative. He just had a bruise between his thumb and index finger.
Pryor talked about his injury and why he sat out of practice:
It’s just a little sore, just like everybody else, Guys’ hamstrings are sore, whatever it may be. I’ve just got to get through it. I catch a lot of balls off the JUGS. Sometimes I guess, muscles, tendons, whatever, can get sore. I’ve just got to get through it, keep doing my treatment the right way and I should be fine.
The young receiver has yet to get an MRI done but said he might after sitting out of practice Sunday with pain.
The guys that we have, they’re pretty sharp, So it definitely isn’t that. It doesn’t hurt in any areas like that. So I don’t know.
Head coach Hue Jackson is not worried about Pryor and his injury. He told the media:
He’ll be fine, We’re all sore. I’m sore. Everybody is a little sore right now. He’ll be alright.
If this young, talented athlete can continue to stay healthy and build on a solid first performance against the Packers, he will have a bright future ahead of him. I am extremely excited to watch him in these next few preseason games.
The only thing I wish for is the pain in his left hand to ease. I want to see him against a tough Atlanta Falcons team who has physical cornerbacks.
