Browns WR Gordon Speaks on the Twitter War with Packers CB Randall, His Comments About Team Being at ‘Disadvantage’

Browns wide out Josh Gordon started Sunday’s game against the Packers looking like he was going to be in for a huge day, and while he did end the day with three catches for 69 yards and a score, it all came early in the game.

One of the players that guarded Gordon during the game, Packers CB Damarious Randall, made a rather disparaging comment about Gordon after the game that got the Browns wide outs attention.

The comment – “he had one catch, any more questions,” made Gordon take to Twitter to state that the Browns had ‘several disadvantages’ and that Randall ‘couldn’t hold my jock strap on my worst day.’

Thursday, the Browns wide out spoke about the about the exchange with Randall, who responded to Gordon’s comments that the wide out ‘must be on that s#it again.’

“I think that is sometimes just the nature of the game. It’s just an emotional game altogether,” Gordon said.

“Before, during, after the game, especially when you know that you have done everything that you can do and then guys take it to that extent on social media and stuff like that, you want to protect yourself, defend yourself, stand up for your teammates, stand up for everybody and leave it at that.

“That is what I did, and I felt alright about it. I said nothing else after that. Just stated my piece and left it at that, but like I said, I gave him congratulations on the win more than anything.”

In the first two games back with the Browns, the wide out has been one of the bright spots on the team, pulling in seven passes for 154 yards and a score.

He was asked what he meant about the ‘disadvantage’ comment that he stated in the twitter exchange with Randall.

“I think the fact that the team is 0-13, we are playing behind the eight ball. We have apparent disadvantages,” Gordon said. “That is all I meant by that – struggling team, young team. We have work to get done and a lot room to improve.

“I think everybody knows that that watches us play. We are almost there, but unfortunately, we haven’t gotten to that point yet.”

Gordon and the Browns will have yet another chance to get their first win of the season Sunday against the Ravens at home, a team that beat the Browns in week two of the season.

Tempers between the wide out and Randall seemed to have cooled down now four days after the Packers overtime win, and Gordon doesn’t seem to want to hold a grudge against the former Packers first-round pick.

“That is his right to do whatever he wants to do and say whatever he wants to do,” Gordon said. “It doesn’t really affect me any type of way. It is just how he felt. That is what he felt he needed to say so that is alright.”
