Browns vs Titans: Three Players to Watch for the Titans Getting Ready for Sunday’s Showdown

When the Tennessee Titans come to First Energy Stadium on Sunday, they will have to put up with not only a rabid crowd that has waited months for the season to start, but also a Browns team that is looking to put their stamp on the 2019 season with an opening day win.

The Titans last season were close to being a playoff team with a mark of 9-7, and now with Andrew Luck retired, they should have the upper hand on the Colts in the division, leaving it to be a race between them and the Houston Texans.

Most oddsmakers think that the Titans are a team that should win between 7-10 games, but that’s a wide margin that only will come down to their playmakers coming up big.

Today we look at a couple players from the Titans who the Browns have to watch out for Sunday at 1pm in Cleveland.

1. Derrick Henry

With the Titans passing game not known for big plays, one player that will have to be the focus of the Browns is running back Derrick Henry.

The bruising back ran for 4.9 yards a carry last year, going off for 1059 yards and 12 touchdowns. He breaks tackles, and if you try and go high he’s going to run right through you.

Henry showed his worth with a 238-yard Thursday night effort against the Jaguars on December 6th, and then 10 days later he ran for 170 yards against the New York Giants.

The Browns defensive focus should be on Henry.

2. Malcolm Butler

The Titans right corner who came to the team last season from the Pats, showed his talents to the tune of three picks in 2018, one going for a touchdown.

The Browns are going to try and test the Titans secondary, and Butler is one player who is going to get a lot of that testing by Baker Mayfield as well as wide outs Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.

Baker has to be careful with the ball, and testing Butler is going to be a fun matchup to watch on Sunday.

3. Delanie Walker

The Titans tight end was injured for just about all of 2018, and at 34 years old is looking to come back and be the player he was in 2017 when he had 74 catches for 807 yards and three scores.

With the Browns trying to put pressure on Marcus Mariota, Walker could be a player that sees plenty of action as a check-down guy for the Titans quarterback.

It will also be a test for the Browns linebackers to chuck him at the line of scrimmage and not let him get downfield through the seam to be able to make plays.
