3) Greg Joseph
Even though Greg Joseph entered Sunday having missed just one field goal since joining the Browns in Week Three, his kicks were always a rollercoaster. Against the Steelers the other shoe finally dropped. Joseph missed a 41-yard field goal early in the second quarter, which at the time could have givent he Browns a 9-0 lead. He followed it up by missing a PAT in the third quarter, which had he made both kicks would have tied the game at 16.
It felt like it was only matter of time until Joseph had a bad day. His presence has felt more like a bandaid than a long-term fix. And similar to when everyone went to bed Sunday night in Week Two knowing former Browns kicker Zane Gonzalez would be cut in the morning after his disasterous outing against the Saints, the same can be said about Joseph this week. The 24-year-old has now missed two field goals and an extra point in just six games. It feels inevitable that he’ll be released but at the very least his leash just got a lot shorter. Joseph and Jackson might be splitting an Uber out of Berea tomorrow.
