Mingo never lived up to the hype after being selected in the 2013 NFL Draft out of LSU, playing in 46 games in three seasons, but only starting 16 times.
The linebacker made 68 tackles in three seasons, recording seven sacks.
It’s one of the first major moves new head coach Hue Jackson has made since the start of training camp and another sign that this new regime is looking to mold its own identity into a franchise that has suffered through one poor season after another.
