BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have signed third round pick QB Cody Kessler and free agent K Patrick Murray. In addition, the club has waived WR David Richards.
The Browns have now signed 12 of their 14 draft picks, including WR Corey Coleman (first round), LB Emmanuel Ogbah (second round), OL Shon Coleman (third round), WR Ricardo Louis (fourth round), DB Derrick Kindred (fourth round), TE Seth DeValve (fourth round), WR Jordan Payton (fifth round), OL Spencer Drango (fifth round), WR Rashard Higgins (fifth round), DB Trey Caldwell (fifth round) and LB Scooby Wright III (seventh round).
Murray, who participated in the Browns minicamp this week on a tryout basis, is 5-7, 182 pounds and in his third NFL season out of Fordham. Originally signed by Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2014, Murray appeared in 16 games with the Buccaneers as a rookie. He converted 20 of 24 field goal attempts and all 31 PATs for 91 points. He spent last season on injured reserve and was waived by Tampa Bay on May 16, 2016. A native of Mahwah, N.J., Murray graduated from Don Bosco Preparatory High School.
Richards was signed on May 24.
