Browns Sign Running Back Kareem Hunt to Two-Year Deal Through 2022

Browns fans are excited about the team’s prospect at the running back spot with the combo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt in 2020, and now the team knows that the combo of the two will be together for some time to come.

Tuesday the team announced they have inked Hunt to a new deal, keeping him with the Browns for the next two seasons, keeping him in Cleveland through the 2022 campaign.

“Cleveland has always been home to me, and putting on the Orange & Brown has been THE dream growing up. Being able to make it official, and play my heart out for the city I love for the next few years is a blessing,” Hunt said.

“Today, I’m honored to sign this extension with the Cleveland Browns, and play next to my Dawg brothers for years to come. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Haslam, Andrew Berry, Coach Stefanski and the entire Browns’ organization for continuing to believe in me through the process, and as an integral part in the offensive scheme.

“To everyone who has also supported me – my family, mentors, friends, and off-the-field team – thank you for continuing to be my “why.” All and continued thanks to God the Good Lord for the guidance, strength, blessings and opportunity to be in this position.”

Last season after being suspended for his off the field actions that eventually got him released from the KC Chiefs, Hunt was solid over the last eight games for the Browns, with three starts.

He ran for 179 yards and a pair of scores for the Browns, while catching 37 passes for 285 yards and a touchdown.

With Chubb and Hunt in the backfield for the Browns, it’s hard to think of a better 1-2 punch at running back any better in the NFL.
