It was the football equivalent to a Christmas Eve miracle, as Robert Griffin III, Isaiah Crowell, and a solid defensive effort led the Browns to their first victory since Dec. 13, 2015, defeating the San Diego Chargers 20-17.
San Diego had a last second chance to make a 45-yard field goal, but had to rush the kick with no timeouts and the clock expiring, causing Josh Lambo to miss wide right.
The Chargers also had a chance to tie with just 3:49 to play, but Jamie Meder blocked a 32-yard field goal attempt, adding an unbelievable highlight to an improbable game.
Crowell scored two rushing touchdowns on the day, gaining 54 yards on 16 carries.
Griffin left the game midway through the fourth quarter with concussion-like symptoms and Cody Kessler finished the game.
In the past three days, the Cleveland Indians spent $60 million on a clean up hitter, the Browns won a game, and the Cavs will look to give their fans a win over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
The Browns (1-14) may be in jeopardy of missing out on the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, depending on what the San Francisco 49ers do in the next two games.
The organizers of the 0-16 parade are now donating funds raised to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
Merry Christmas @CleFoodBank!!
