3) Denzel Ward plays big
There were some critics when the Browns chose to use the No. 4 overall pick in the draft on an undersized CB Denzel Ward. The rookie wasted no time shutting them up. Ward snagged two interceptions in the first half, the first of which he went completely unnoticed by Ben Roethlisberger.

The second one was more of a gift as it bounced off the hands of Steelers’ tight end Jesse James and right to Ward. Ward was also solid in coverage on a very talented group of Steelers’ receivers. He was continually in the right place at the right time and made plays in both the run and passing game. As a whole the Browns secondary made quite the impression in Week One. Last season, Cleveland’s defense had seven interceptions FOR THE SEASON. They start 2018 with four in the first game.
