Browns New Coach Jackson Looking at Ray Horton as Possible Defensive Coordinator

Haven’t we seen this before?

Ray Horton was the Browns defensive coordinator during the 2013 season, a season which ended with the Browns going 4-12, and Horton’s defense ranking 23rd.

From the sounds of it, and if Hue Jackson has his way, Horton my get a rare second chance to be in the same role with the same team.

According to Adam Schefter, Jackson is eyeing Horton to join his new staff and run the Browns defense.

It’s not known as of yet if the Titans are going to allow Horton to talk to Cleveland and make the move. Clubs can block assistants under contract from making moves to any position with another team other than head coach.

A reason they may let Horton walk is the Titans still don’t have a head coach. If Interim coach Mike Mularkey gets the job, that would make it more likely that Horton wouldn’t go to the Browns and stay with Tennessee.
