The Browns and Eagles preseason match-up presented more information regarding who could be in the starting lineup. Joshua Dobbs started the game at quarterback. This could turn some heads given that we haven’t seen Jacoby Brissett take a snap for the team. One of the bright sides of this game was rookie WR David Bell. He made his first start for the team. Bell recorded 3 receptions for 46 yards. The connection between Bell and Dobbs was found early in the game showing that Bell could be a valuable asset this season.
Browns coach, Kevin Stefanski, spoke highly of Dobbs after the game.

A Quick Look at the Defense
Making an unexpected and impressive start was Linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk who the team picked up right before the Jacksonville game. He recorded 6 tackles and an assist while laying a big hit on Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell. The only sack of the game for the Browns was credited to DE Curtis Weaver.
Looking forward
By the end of this game, we saw the Browns are still going to be a run-first team for a while. When Watson returns in week 13, against the Texans, the scheme may change a bit. On the defensive side of the ball, the team is running more zone plays than in previous years along with more blitzing plays. This aggressive defensive play style is something that would be beneficial as the defensive is going to be relied on heavily. Moving into the final week of preseason we shouldn’t expect to see many starters playing. The regular season is just 2 weeks away. The Browns will face the Carolina Panthers and former QB Baker Mayfield.
