On Monday, the Cleveland Browns announced that linebacker Jamie Collins will be out for the remainder of the season with an MCL injury.
Collins suffered the injury yesterday during the loss to the Detroit Lions.
On Monday, Hue Jackson had this to say about Collins:
“He’s one of our best players, one of our leaders. We’ll miss him, but that’s football.”
Collins was a Pro Bowler during the 2015 season and on Sunday intercepted a pass from Matthew Stafford on the second series of the game and had to be helped off the field. Collins missed three games early on in the season due to a concussion.
Jackson had this to say on if Collins’ needs surgery:
“I know there’s damage there. To the degree of what it is, I don’t know that.”
Jackson closed out with saying the impact Collins injury makes to the team:
“He’s a big-time player. I think he was right on the cusp of starting to make special plays. Like I said, he’s a tremendous guy on the practice field, in the locker room … we love him and we’ll miss him.”
