Browns Ink DB Darrius Hillary to the Active Roster; Place DB Reggie Porter on IR

The Browns have signed DB Darrius Hillary to the active roster from the practice squad and placed DB Reggie Porter (Achilles) on injured reserve. In addition, the team signed OL Korren Kirven to the practice squad.

Hillary is 5-10, 183-pounds and is officially in his first season NFL out of Wisconsin. Originally signed by Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent in 2016, Hillary was in active for one game with the Browns his rookie season and spent nine weeks on Cleveland’s practice squad and five weeks on Cincinnati’s practice squad.

Hillary has spent all of 2017 on the Browns’ practice squad. A native of Cincinnati, he graduated from Sycamore High School. His father, Ira, played with the Bengals (1987-89) and Vikings (1990) as a wide receiver. Hillary will wear No. 28.

Porter appeared in three games after being signed off the Ravens’ practice squad on Sept. 20. He injured his Achilles Monday at practice.

Kirven is a 6-4, 311 pound rookie out of Alabama. He was originally signed by Tampa Bay an undrafted free agent and spent all of the preseason with the Buccaneers before being released during final roster cuts. Kirven appeared in 26 career games at Alabama and is a native of Lynchburg, Va.
