Browns Hypothetical Trade Packages Heading into Training Camp

Compared to past Cleveland Browns off-seasons, it has been a relatively quiet one. Cleveland has added the likes of LB Jordan Hicks, LB Devin Bush, RB Nyheim Hines, and RB D’Onta Foreman via free agency, and acquired Former Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy via Trade. The Browns improved slightly but I am afraid they still do not have enough to push them over the top. The Browns currently hold 8 picks in the 2025 Draft while maintaining the rest of their selections for the 2026 and 2027 Drafts as well. Andrew Berry has shown before that he is willing to move draft picks for the right pieces. With rookies reporting Monday and the veterans reporting Tuesday, I expect Cleveland to make a move sooner rather than later.

Donald Parham Jr.

Browns receive: TE Donald Parham Jr.

Chargers receive: 2025 7th Round Pick (via Minnesota)

The Browns have shown interest in the 6’8 TE each of the past 3 seasons. With 4 TEs on the current roster (Njoku, Akins, Mitchell-Paden, and Welch) I expect Cleveland to at least look to potentially add one more reliable target before the season begins. Parham provides the Browns with a much-needed boost in the pass game. Parham has the size, hands, and speed to be a matchup nightmare alongside Star TE David Njoku. While Parham has not produced at a high-caliber level since entering the league in 2020, over his 4-year career Parham has racked up 67 catches for 764 yards and 11 TDs.

CB Tre Herndon

Browns Receive: CB Tre Herndon

Giants Receive: 2025 6th Round Pick (CLE)

An UDFA in 2018 from Vanderbilt, Herndon has worked his way into a pretty decent 6-year tenure in Jacksonville. Herndon started in 4 games this season while appearing in 16. He signed with the New York Giants earlier this off-season but with the emergence of some young CBs in New York, I believe Herndon is the odd man out. Getting the chance to take a lesser role in Cleveland isn’t necessarily a bad thing, Cleveland will give Herndon a chance to show his abilities on special teams along with playing in a CB4/5 role (taking minimal snaps). While Cleveland doesn’t necessarily need another CB, it would be nice to add some more depth below the top 3. Injuries happen and in years prior, the cornerback position has been injury-riddled in Cleveland. Adding a veteran presence early solves a potential addition of an aging veteran mid-season.

LB Krys Barnes

Cardinals Receive: 2025 5th Round Pick (CLE)

Browns Receive: LB Krys Barnes and 2025 6th Round Pick (ARI)

With 1 year left on his current deal and a cap hit of $1.1M in 2024, Krys Barnes provides a boost to a relatively weak LB room for close to no cost. Barnes, 26, was an undrafted free agent in 2020 ultimately signing with the Green Bay Packers. Barnes was thrusted into action early, appearing in 13 games and starting in 10 his rookie season. Barnes finished his tenure in Green Bay appearing in 35 games, starting in 24, and racking up 190 tackles and 9 TFLs. Barnes finished 2023 with 52 tackles and an INT. Barnes also provides the Browns with a bit more playoff experience as well, starting all three postseason games during his tenure with the Green Bay Packers between 2020-21.
