The Cleveland Browns have oodles of money to spend in free agency this off-season and will look to improve their team in more ways than one before the 2018 NFL season. It appears the team’s first order of business is to sign a top secondary player.
On Friday, the Browns held a visit with free agent cornerback Vontae Davis.
Off his visit to Buffalo, former Colts' CB Vontae Davis is in Cleveland today visiting with the Browns, per source. More visits expected next week as well.

Davis last played with the Indianapolis Colts before he was released due an argument with the team about a nagging groin injury that eventually affected his play pretty badly. Davis and former Colts head coach Chuck Pagano got into an exchange during Week 9 and Davis was released right after.
The twenty-nine year old Davis has 22 interceptions and 342 tackles in nine NFL seasons. After only playing five games last season, one must wonder how healthy he is after the injury. But for Cleveland, money isn’t an issue and offering a nice contract to Davis shouldn’t hurt their pocketbook by any stretch.
