The newest general manager of the Cleveland Browns, John Dorsey, keeps on making headlines after only two weeks on the job. After cutting Kenny Britt last week just twenty-four hours after accepting the role, it appears he has topped that this week with some rather controversial comments.
While appearing as a guest on ESPN 850 WKNR, Dorsey spoke with harsh words on the previous Cleveland regime ran by Sashi Brown.
Dorsey told ESPN’s Aaron Goldhammer on Thursday how he really felt about the situation.
“You know what? You’ve got to get a guy like that (Hue Jackson) players. And you know what? I’ll come straight out with it. The guys who were here before, that system, they didn’t get real players.”
Dorsey has already proven to not care about feelings while trying to create a winning culture for the Browns, which can be viewed as a good thing. Cleveland has been lacking a cutthroat leader that isn’t afraid to make the tough decisions.
The next big decision Dorsey will have to make is whether he will keep Head Coach Hue Jackson. Dorsey has been very quiet on his stance about Jackson’s job, so come the end of the season we’ll find out how he really feels about the idea of Jackson at the helm on Sundays.
