The Cleveland Browns fired five assistant coaches, which was not a great surprise, considering the team announced the hiring of new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams on Sunday.
#Browns fire 5 coaches today: Louie Cioffi(def.backs),
Johnny Holland(ILB's)
Hal Hunter(O-Line)
Cannon Matthews(D-Backs)

Williams will presumably have the task of assembling his own defensive staff, while Hue Jackson and Browns management will provide input on that search and play a bigger role in finding both a quarterbacks coach to replace Pep Hamilton and a new offensive line coach.
As of now, special teams coordinator Chris Tabor, the longest tenured member of the Browns coaching staff, is still part of the team and would enter his seventh season under four different head coaches in Berea.
