It was a deal that had everyone in the NFL talking Thursday afternoon, a deal that reminded most of one that would be done in the NBA – not the NFL.
No matter, the Browns now officially have quarterback Brock Osweiler on their roster, even if it’s just for a short period of time.
The deal basically was a cash buy for the Browns, paying the Houston Texans $16 million to move from a fourth-round pick to a second-round pick, also taking the hefty contract of Osweiler, who was a complete bust as a starter last season in Houston.
There was some question if the wild deal would get resistance from those around the NFL, and some have speculated that the NFL might just block the deal.
Not happening.
Today Adam Schefter reported that the deal is indeed approved, and Brock is now with the Browns, that is until they either find a trading partner (unlikely) or release him (a LOT more likely).
Despite any questions that some raised, the NFL officially has approved the Brock-Osweiler-to-Cleveland trade, per the league's wire.

The thought over and over is that the deal is part of a much bigger deal coming for the Browns (Jimmy Garoppolo anyone?) and that it was done to stockpile picks.
We shall see if that bigger deal comes at some point today.

I am amazed at the ungrateful way which Pryor is treating the Browns. They were the “only” team who gave him a shot.Yes he had a good year last year, and how does he show his thanks, not by being loyal to Cleveland. Sad
