Browns Chatting with Former Giants Coach Ben McAdoo About Teams’ OC Job

The rumors about the Browns bringing in an offensive coordinator to take some of the pressure off coach Hue Jackson are gaining momentum.

The first name that popped up yesterday was now former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey, who ‘parted ways’ with the Titans yesterday despite leading the team to their first playoff birth since 2008.

Today another name has popped up, that being former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo, who Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer reports is in town today talking to the Browns.

McAdoo, fired by the Giants on Dec. 4 along with GM Jerry Reese when the team was 2-10, has ties to John Dorsey and would be a strong candidate to call plays here because of his experience.

He spent seven years in Green Bay with Dorsey from 2006 through 20012, where he served as tight ends coach from 2006-11 and quarterbacks coach in 2014 and 2015.

It sounds like Jackson is finally starting to see that he needs help with running this offense, and it sounds like he’s willing to give the duties to a guy that can assist him in a number of areas with play-calling and who should be on the field at what time.

Another name on the list is Texans quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan, a possible candidate who has already spoken to the Browns.
