The Cleveland Browns have two elite players on their roster, cornerback Joe Haden and offensive tackle Joe Thomas. Last season Haden had the injury bug and didn’t perform in many games. This season will hopefully be a different story, as the all-pro corner just wants to get back to his normal self.
In joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Haden showed his coaches and teammates that he is still the old ball-hawking defender he has always been. Head coach Hue Jackson told the media that he is extremely glad to see Haden back on the field and hopes he continues to make plays once the season arrives and stated:
Keep getting them. Please, keep getting them. We need to get our hands on the ball on defense. That’s what it’s all about. We have to take the ball away from the other team’s offense and we have to keep it on offense.
It’s great. I told you guys he’d be back out there at some point, and he’s back. I’m glad he’s back. He’s one of the leaders of our team, one of the better players in the National Football League. We expect him to play that way.
Here is a video that the Browns put on their Twitter account yesterday. It shows Haden intercepting a pass from quarterback Jameis Winston in a joint practice against the Bucs.

Haden looks poised for a breakout 2016 season. This new coaching regime under Hue Jackson and company really is making Haden more motivated and excited. He should put up Pro Bowl numbers this season and still be the dominant defensive force on the Browns.
