Browns Bits: With Hue Jackson Gone, Who’s Next to Lead His Franchise?

Now my thoughts on some players on offense and defense.

Jarvis Landry has been a good addition on offense. He’s not having the season he’d hope for, but a lot of that is because of the attention he’s getting.

Rather than naming each player, the entire offensive line is showing why they should’ve seen more playing time during the preseason.

It sure would be nice if tight end David Njoku had more reliable hands on a consistent basis. Njoku and wide receiver Antonio Callaway that is.

Duke Johnson really needs the ball in his hands more often. Usually, good things happen when Duke gets the rock.

Though he’s not the runner Carlos Hyde is, rookie Nick Chubb just needs more experience. I think Chubb will be a good, maybe great runningback.

Myles Garrett and Larry Ogunjobi have caused a lot of problems for opposing offenses. I look for that to continue.

Linebackers Christian Kirksey and Joe Schobert, both when healthy, are solid players and are having solid seasons.

Denzel Ward has played up to his number four overall selection and could end up being defensive rookie of the year.

Damarious Randell has played very well when playing the free-safety position. Good signing by GM John Dorsey.

Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield has played well considering his lack of protection, bad receiving core and the amount of both drops and penalties he deals with on offense.

Last, but certainly not least, the Browns still need a kicker!
