Tuesday the Browns announced they were placing TE Harrison Bryant and S Andrew Sendejo on COVID-19/Reserve list.
Today, as prep begins for their biggest game of the season against the Steelers with a possible trip to the playoffs on the line, another player and a staff member have tested positive for COVID-19.
The team released a statement this morning informing media and fans of the situation, also the team has closed their facility in Berea while they do contract tracing.
“This morning, the Cleveland Browns were informed that a player and staff member have tested positive for COVID-19. The Browns facility is currently closed while contract tracing is taking place to identify any high-risk close contacts. The team will continue to work remotely and follow the NFL-NFLPA intensive protocols as the health and safety of our team, staff and the entire community is our highest priority.”
The Browns current COVID-19/reserve list has 10 players on it, including still from last week all of their starting and backup receivers Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge.
Despite missing all of those players, the Browns remain a 10-point favorite to beat the Steelers Sunday and reach the postseason.
