PARMA, Ohio- It was a very quick game in terms of speed between the Brooklyn Hurricanes and Nordonia Knights. The Hurricanes constantly put pressure on Nordonia and skated up and down the ice with remarkable puck movement to wear out the Knights. It worked to perfection and as a result, the Hurricanes improved to 13-1 on the campaign.
Two quick goals within the first four minutes set the tone for what was going to be a Brooklyn-controlled game. After going up early, it appeared that Brooklyn was starting to get inside the thought process of Nordonia and it led to a lot of takeaways. Gavin Supek stretched the lead to 3-0 after battling through the last line of defense hanging onto him to go right pocket on the marker. The goal came at the 8:38 mark and was the last score of the frame, sending the teams into the break with the Hurricanes leading 3-0.
After a substantially-large difference in the shots-on-goal department during the opening frame, Brooklyn continued to pour it on. After getting off sixteen shots to only four Knights shots in fifteen minutes, the Hurricanes did the same amount of damage in the middle stanza.
Though Nordonia would get on the board off of a Brian Sebastian score at the 5:42 mark of the frame, Matt Crossman would retaliate with a goal of his own at the 8:52 mark of the period. Crossman continues to give life to this Brooklyn team, like he did for much of last year’s strong run. Aidan Supek added his name to the stat sheet with a marker at the 13:25 mark of the second to make it 5-1 in favor of Brooklyn.
Brooklyn would continue to pepper Nordonia with shots and after getting a 41-13 advantage in the shots-on-goal category, they would add another marker and stroll to a 6-1 victory.
