Brooklyn Boys Bowling Lose a Tight One to Garfield Heights

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio – Brooklyn high school fought valiantly down to the very last frame today, but dropped a close one to Garfield Heights 3028 – 2957 in Handicap scoring today at Buckeye Lanes in North Olmsted.  Anyone who follows Bowling will be able to tell you just how close a score like that is.

The loss dropped the Hurricanes to 7-2 on the season.  They have had a great season despite todays setback.

Sophmore anchor Marchello Carrossellia is gaining plenty of valuable experience and looks to improve weekly as he will have two more seasons after this one to continue to shine.

He is the only Sophmore out of the five starters who bowled today the rest are seniors.

Steven Prusak has returned from injury and is looking back to his old stellar form.

Two sport all star Matt Harry is also one who knocks down plenty of pins along the way.

You can’t forget about the big man on the team, by size alone it is hard not to notice Senior Tony Schiavone.

Brian Kestranek is also a Senior, and one to keep you eye on to do big things!

With four seniors about to graduate, the players on the JV team will be in the spotlight next season.

They include

Alex Hicu

Trevor Supek

Nate Flint

Brandon Smith

Darnell Eddinger is also on the JV team, but will be graduating this year.

The Brooklyn head coach is Gregg Patz.

Todays action was part of the GCIBL.  A 17 team league that has been around since 1940.  Director of the league Rick Parschens is quick to give the full praise of the success of the league to the coaches, parents and players.  The league will look to grow next year with the “possible” additions of St. Joes Academy, Lakewood and Independence.  Again, THOSE ARE NOT CONFIRMED, simply rumored.
