LYNDHURST, OHIO – The Brush Arcs, behind a terrific performance by senior guard Andre Harris, clinched the Western Reserve Conference title with a solid 75-57 victory over Willoughby South on Friday evening in Lyndhurst.
Harris had an outstanding second quarter, scoring 15 points and almost single-handedly seizing the momentum for Brush. The Arcs trailed 16-10 after the opening period, but four consecutive Harris baskets—two 3-pointers and two layups—gave Brush the lead at 29-24 with 1:34 to play in the first half.
In the second half, the Arcs demonstrated their team speed as they expanded their lead into double digits.
Senior point guard D.J. Dial scored 10 of his 16 points after the intermission and demonstrated poise on both ends of the court. Harris put an exclamation point on the evening with two thunderous fourth-quarter dunks and finished with a game high 35 points.
South was led by senior forwards Damion Williams (18 points) and Xavier Hopps (17 points).
