LORAIN, OHIO – Top-seeded Lorain used their pressing defense and superior outside shooting to defeat Berea-Midpark 75-50 on Saturday night in an OHSAA Division 1 sectional final game.
Berea-Midpark managed to stay with Lorain early by virtue of a first-half rebounding advantage. But Lorain turned all systems up a notch in the second half and pulled away to a decisive victory.
Lorain converted 15 three-point shots in the game, six of them by senior guard Devon Grant who led all scorers with 23 points. The Titans were very efficient on offense throughout, committing only six turnovers in the game.
Lorain advances to play Avon in next week’s district tournament at Elyria Catholic.
