PARMA, OHIO– For the second time this week—and the ninth time this season—Holy Name reached the 100-point plateau, defeating Cleveland’s Rhodes High 100-63 on Saturday evening. The Green Wave seems to be approaching tsunami level as the regular season heads into the final week.

Holy Name’s Brandon Styers knocked down nine 3-pointers on his way to a game high 35 points. The 6-foot senior hit from all angles, but was especially deadly from the corners.

Dayton recruit Dwayne Cohill scored on a short jumper midway through the first quarter breaking an 8-8 tie. Holy Name finished the quarter on a 10-2 run and were never headed. Cohill, a 6-foot-2 senior, finished with 15 points, all in the first half.

While the Green Wave (18-2) was putting up impressive numbers on offense, their defensive effort was just as effective. The Namers’ full-court press frequently rattled the Rams, forcing 27 turnovers and generating many transition baskets.

All told, 11 players entered the scoring column for Holy Name. In addition to Styers and Cohill, sophomore guard Quentin Richardson was in double figures with 12 points.

Rhodes was led by Marlon Landingham with 24 points. The Rams’ Kevin Tucker and Donny Douglas also were in twin digits scoring 13 and 12 points respectively.
