Boston Massacre: Cavs look out of sync as they fall to Celtics; three takeaways

1. Inefficient offense

The Cavs struggled with shooting from the get go, shown by the fact that they never led by more than two points in the game.

Their shooting was abysmal from the field, as they went 31-of-89 (34.8 percent), leading to just 88 points, their lowest point total of the season. From deep, they were just 8-of-32, meaning that their streak of 26 games with at least 10 3s also comes to an end.

But even more worrisome this game was their assist number. The Cavs had just 16, six of which came from LeBron James alone. For comparison, the Celtics had 27.

Overall, there was just a lot of isolation basketball, which is in part a testament to Boston’s defense. Whenever the Cavs have fallen into that trap this season, they are largely unsuccessful.
