The Columbus Blue Jackets traded Kerby Rychel, their first-round pick from 2013 to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Columbus receives defenseman Scott Harrington and a conditional draft pick.
The pick in TOR-CBJ is a conditional 5th. If Harrington is put on waivers by CBJ and gets claimed, CBJ gets a 5th. If he clears, no pick.

Rychel, 22, was rumored to have wanted out of the Columbus organization throughout the 2015-2016 season. Rychel spent much of the season with the Lake Erie Monsters, playing 54 games between the regular season and playoffs combined. Rychel scored seven goals and dished out 26 assists with the Monsters.
Rychel played in 32 NHL games with the Blue Jackets, scoring two goals and contributing seven assists.
Harrington is 23 and was a second-round selection of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011. The defenseman played 17 games in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies and 15 games with the Maple Leafs in the NHL. He scored a goal and dished out two assists with the Marlies. He contributed one assist with the Maple Leafs.
