The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded defenseman John Ramage to the Arizona Coyotes, the team reported Monday afternoon. The deal will bring Columbus future considerations back, those the details on those considerations have yet to be revealed.
Ramage has been a defensive staple for Cleveland and helped bring them their first franchise Calder Cup Championship in 2016. In thirty-three games this season for the Monsters, Ramage has scored two goals and added seven assists for a total of nine points while spending thirty-seven minutes in the penalty box. He has donned the “A” for Cleveland for a good portion of the campaign and has been a veteran presence for a fairly young team. He now moves on to an Arizona team that is currently last in the Pacific Division to add some depth at the NHL level, with the possibility of him assisting the Tucson Roadrunners, Arizona’s AHL affiliate, on the back line.
The Monsters resume play Tuesday on the road at 8pm against the Milwaukee Admirals.
