The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-1, Tuesday night, back in front of a home crowd a Nationwide Arena after a three game road trip.
Brandon Dubinsky and Sergei Bobrovsky led the way for Jackets. Dubinsky had two goals on the night, ending a 19 game streak in which he had not scored a goal.
Bobrovsky made 24 saves, giving up only one goal in his first game back, after missing three games due to illness.
It’s obvious the Blue Jackets are a different, more confident team when Bob is between the posts.
Sebastian Aho kicked the game off for the Hurricanes, receiving a perfect dish at the side of the net from Teuvo Teravainen, slamming home the puck to give the Canes the 1-0 lead open late in the first.
That would be all the goal action the Hurricanes would see on the night. The CBJ would go on to light lamp four unanswered times to shut down the hurricanes.
Boone Jenner scored at 18:52 in the first period to tie things up at one. Cam Atkinson and Ryan Murray assisted on the goal, which was Jenner’s ninth of the season.
35 seconds later, Brandon Dubinsky closed out the first period with his first of two goals on the night. Dubinsky’s goal was assisted by Ryan Murray, who had two assists on the night.
Dubinsky came into the second period the same way he left the first, on fire.
Dubinsky set up shop in the zone and fired a wrister through traffic for his second goal of the game and fifth of the season.

Sam Gagner and Scott Hartnell assisted on the goal.
The third period would be scoreless for both sides, but four unanswered CBJ goals would prove to be more than enough to get a big home win and end the Canes’ win-streak at four games.
The Jackets will stay at home for the rest of the week and into the weekend, taking on the Ottawa Senators on Thursday followed by a second dance with Carolina on Saturday.
