Blue Jackets Hold Off New York Rangers 6-4

The Columbus Blue Jackets resumed play after the NHL All-Star Break in New York, as they took on the New York Rangers. The Jackets would claim a 6-4 lead after a very eventful forty minutes.

The Blue Jackets would get on the board once in the first period, as Seth Jones would score at the 3:53 mark off of a pass from William Karlsson for the lone goal in the frame.

Columbus would tally four goals in the second stanza, as Brandon Saad, Alexander Wennberg, Seth Jones and Nick Foligno would all score to make it a 5-0 Columbus lead going into the final twenty minutes.

Matty Calvert would push the lead to six at the 1:49 mark of the final frame, but then New York would start a late comeback. Jimmy Vesey, Michael Grabner, Chris Kreider and Kevin Klein would score goals to cut the deficit to two. Luckily for Columbus, they would escape with the win as time ran out on the Rangers.
