It was a great Saturday night on the pitch for both the girls and boys varsity teams at Berea Mipark High School. The boys went on the road to topple Eastlake North 3-1 while the Girls stayed and defended home by knocking off the visiting Mayfield 5-3. A great night for Titans soccer!
The Below recap was provided to NEOSI by Jon Adams of the Berea Midpark Titan VNN network.

The Titans next travel to Avon Lake on Wednesday, September 27 with JV playing at 5:00 P.M. and Varsity squaring off at 7:00 P.M.
As for the boys team, they looked every bit as impressive.
The Titans (7-2-2) traveled out to Eastlake North ( 5-4-1) on Saturday night looking to rebound from two tough opponents in N. Royalton and Olmsted Falls.
The Titans would open up scoring in the 21′ when senior forward Carter Munsterman would get behind North’s defensive line and beat Eastlake’s goalkeeper in a 1v1. The Ranger’s would answer just one minute later when defender C. Sevastos would commit a foul 25 yards out from the Titans goal. Eastlake’s M. Thomas would send the resulting free kick left of the wall and slotted it in the far top corner past sophomore goalkeeper Z. Zeleznik. This is Zack’s second start of the season, and third start of his career on the varsity squad. Eastlake defense would continue to find ways to stop the Titans attack throughout the 1st half. Although the Titans would dominate 1st half possession, Eastlake would have answers to each organized attack the Titans would send forward. Carter would find the net again before the end of the 1st half to break the tie. Eastlake goalkeeper would attempt a save only to find the shot slip under his hands and through his legs into the Ranger goal. The Titans would attempt 18 shots in the first half. Halftime Score: 2-1 Titans Eastlake would continue their stingy defense well into the second half. The Titans would continue to test the wings and the middle of the Eastlake defense, but the Titans would be denied until the the 72′ minute when Carter Munsterman would send in a shot through a crowd that bounced over the outstretched arms of the Eastlake keeper. Titans defense would earn a second half shutout behind a great defensive effort by N. Schmied and the rest of the Titans defense. The Titans would send in 16 shots in the second half. They finish the game with 34 shots total. One shot away from equaling the single game shot record of 35 set last year against Lorain in the sectional semifinal. The Titans continue SWC play at home this Wednesday night against #8 Avon Lake. JV gets started at 5:15pm and varsity to follow at 7:00pm. With only 3 conference games to play each one carries the potential to shift the conference standings significantly. Finals Stats of the Match BMHS: Eastlake: |
