BGSU football falls to Buffalo, 38-28; three takeaways

3. Bright Future

Despite falling to Buffalo, Bowling Green saw flashes of how good some of their younger players can be. Most notably, the offensive fire power of Andrew Clair and Jarret Doege. Both of these players are only true freshman but have already exploded onto the scene.

Against Buffalo, Clair was held to under 100 rushing yards for the first time in four games. Clair still rushed for 85 yards on 18 carries and scored once as well. Coming into the game Clair was second in the nation in all-purpose yards by a true-freshman.

The man handing him off the ball the past two weeks has also shown his ability to run an offense. Against Buffalo Doege completed 28-of-43 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns. For the second straight week, Doege took control of the ball by not throwing an interception, In games played Doege has completed over 60 percent of his passes and only thrown one interception. This dynamic duo for the Falcons should be promising for any fan despite the team struggling this year.
