Berea-Midpark’s boys and girls cross country teams opened up the postseason portion of their schedule with the Southwestern Conference Championship on Saturday at the Lorain County Community College cross country Course. The girls placed fourth with a team score of 92 points, improving from their SWC preview finish of fifth.
Running at the course for the second time this season, the Titans covered the wet and windy course with some strong times. Morgan Jankowski paced the Titans and earned an eighth-place showing with a time of 21:19.2. Running with Jankowksi for most of the race was Shura Ermakov. Ermakov covered the course in 21:30.6 to place 10th today marking the second Titan to cross the finish line. Megan Thai (21:58.9) and Sam Agresta (22:03.6) ran with each other throughout the race and finished nearly side-by-side in the finishing chute to earn 18th and 20th-place showing respectively. Senior Dana Miller was the final Titan to score with a 36th-place finish; she clocked a time of 23:08.8. Just off Miller’s pace was Olivia Rentsch who dashed to the finish line with a time of 23:44.6 to finish in 45th place. Katrina Scheu (24:12.7/55th place) was the final finisher for the Titans.
