The Rockets answered as Jake Gaudino, assisted by Sam Murray, netted one with just four minutes left in the first period to make the scored 3-1. However, the Rockets’ engines went idle in second period as the Comets scored four unanswered goals.
Bay and Amherst traded goals in the third to make the final score 8-2 in Amherst’s favor. That third period goal was scored by Jack Smith and assisted by Will Kenney. Bay’s goaltender, Sean Gulley, turned away 28 shots while Amherst’s Brady Grove saved 12. The Rockets’ record is now 2-1 in the GCHSHL White North. They are tied for second place with Amherst.
