Bauer Impressive But Indians Fall in 12 Innings to the Rockies 3-2; Three Takeaways From the Loss

2. Plenty of Chances

The Indians left 10 men on base in the loss, and again getting the big hit and not coming through seemed to rear its ugly head for the club in the one-run loss.

The worst case of not building on the lead came in the 4th, as leading 2-1 they got a walk to Edwin Encarnacion and a single from Carlos Santana to put runners on first and third with no outs.

Austin Jackson struck out, Bradley Zimmer popped out, and Abraham Almonte struck out to end a threat that could have added onto the lead and really put distance between the Indians and Rockies.

Lindor grounded out with Almonte on third in the 7th, and in the 8th with the bases loaded Brandon Guyer pinch-hitting hit into an easy force out.

It’s easy to look back at the chances the team had to find a way to win the game, but just one base knock in a key situation really could have made it a much different game.
