3.) Josh Tomlin with a good start
Josh Tomlin threw 7 innings and only allowed one run which was in the 4th inning. During today’s start, Tomlin went 7 innings, allowed 1 run, gave up only 3 hits, had three strikeouts, and threw 76 pitches (56 strikes).
In Tomlin’s last outing against the Mariners, Tomlin only went 5 innings, allowed 4 runs, and only threw 86 pitches.
In the last three starts for Tomlin, he is averaging about 6 innings pitched and is throwing around 87 pitches.
Tomlin did not earn a decision today but did all he could after allowing the 4th inning run.
Tomorrow, the Indians and Royals wrap up the three games series. Following the Indians victory on Saturday the series is tied 1-1. On Sunday the Indians will be sending Mike Clevinger to the mound and he will be making is 2017 season debut. Clevinger will be starting in place of Corey Kluber. Clevinger will be opposed by the Royals Danny Duffy.
First pitch is expected to be around 2:15 PM EST.
