The Strongsville Mustang Boys Varsity soccer team fell 6-1to Avon in the Elyria District Championship on Saturday Night at North Ridgeville.
Avon got on the board first in the 5th minute but the Mustangs equalized 4 minutes later. Avon would tack on a nice corner kick restart at the end of the half to go in to the break up 2-1. The Mustangs felt good about their chances in the 2nd half as they dominated much of the possession and quality opportunities in the opening half.
Avon earned the 3rd goal in the 58th minute and never looked back as the Green and White could not dent a staunch Eagles defense. With Strongsville pushing forward it opened up the game and the Mustang back line. Avon took advantage pushing the advantage out of reach.
Strongsville finishes it’s season at 15-3-1, a share of the GCC title and a District Final appearance. A good season by all measures.
