Browns Head Coach Hue Jackson appeared on Bleacher Report’s SirusXM radio show on Sunday morning and was asked about Johnny Manziel and the future of the quarterback position in Cleveland.
When asked about Manziel, Jackson said, “I haven’t talked to Johnny yet, but I’m going to do everything I can to evaluate him just like I would with every other player on our team, from the top player to whoever the last player is on our roster.”
When the matter of drafting a quarterback came up, Jackson said, “If there’s a quarterback there at pick number two or pick number 32 that we feel is the best option, best fit for our organization for our team then we need to go get him. I do believe that this team does need a quarterback.”
Later in the interview, Jackson gives praise to Josh McCown, but acknowledges injuries and age are a concern. Jackson also says that if the reports of Manziel partying in Las Vegas are true, it would be indicative of a “non-starter.”
