Geneva – In a back and forth battle between the Beachwood Bison and the St. John Fighting Heralds, the Fighting Heralds prevailed, 38-24.

The Saturday afternoon contest between the Fighting Heralds and the Beachwood Bison was played on the campus of the world class facilities at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
The first quarter would see both teams go scoreless.
Beachwood would then get on the scoreboard first with a safety to make the score 2-0 with 8:17 left in the second quarter.
After, the safety, Mar’Tez Pinkney returned the St. John free kick for a touchdown with 7:59 left in the half to make the score 9-0 in favor of the Bison.

St. John added three touchdowns of their own in the last 7:59 of the second quarter.
First, quarterback Vin Narducci had a short touchdown run. This was followed by a 45-yard touchdown pass from Will Anderson to Anthony Severino.
Then, with 11 seconds left in the half, quarterback Vin Narducci and wide receiver Will Anderson connected on their first of three touchdowns on the day to give St. John a 20-9 lead heading into halftime.

After halftime, St. John added a touchdown in the third quarter when Vin Narducci threw a 42- yard touchdown pass to Will Anderson to give St. John a 26-9 lead.
The Bison would cut the lead to 26-16 when quarterback Jacob Thomas threw a touchdown pass to Eriq Walker with 11:53 left in the game.
After another St. John touchdown pass by Narducci to Anderson, the Bison got to within one score at 32-24 when Jacob Thomas scored on a short touchdown run for the Bison.

St. John would score the final touchdown of the game to make the final score, St. John 38, Beachwood 24.

“We knew this was a good opponent, and we knew we needed to come out hot and we were all really pumped up for the game,” said Anderson.
Added Narducci, “(We had) a lot of good preparation of practices. I thought the way that we finished the game showed how tough we are.”
St. John will now face Steubenville Central Catholic on Friday and Beachwood will next host Grand Valley for a week four matchup.
