Amherst Steele Football Coach Bill Fishleigh Announces He’s Stepping Down

There has been a major shakeup in the coaching ranks this offseason in high school football out in the areas of Lorain, Elyria and Medina counties, and today another coach has announced he is walking away.

After a season in which they went 3-7, Amherst Steele coach Bill Fishleigh stated this morning that he’s stepping down as head coach of the Comets.

Fishleigh spent two seasons as head coach of the Comets, he had coached at Case Western, Perry and Avon before joining Amherst Steele in February of 2014.

Fishleigh replaced Chad DiFranco, who went 4-26 in three seasons under DiFranco.

Among the coaches that wont’ be back in 2017 include Avon Lake’s Dave Dlugosz, Medina’s Dan Sutherland, Vermilion’s Rob Duray, and Luke Beal of Brunswick.
