Amherst Athletic Director Coach Casey Wolf reported to the OHSAA an eligibility issue with a softball player. This forces Amherst to forfeit two of their games. Wolf sent a statement to NEO Sports Insiders:
“Last week, we were made aware of an eligibility issue with one of our softball players. At that time, we self-reported it to the OHSAA and subsequently, we were obligated to forfeit two of our wins from earlier this season. We will have no further statement at this time.”
Amherst, who won the 2017 SWC title, could have trouble repeating as champions. The Comets have already lost a conference game to Olmsted Falls and will have to forfeit two different conference games bringing their SWC record to 4-3 and their overall record to 4-4 after their win tonight over North Olmsted.
