Afternoon-drive talk-show host Bruce Hooley, who hosted the 5-7 pm show weekdays on WKNR 850 ESPN Cleveland, announced on Wednesday that he is leaving the station to pursue another opportunity.
Can't thank NEO & Amish Country enough for sharing the last 5 years with me. Will tell you soon where to find me on air.

No drama in departing @ESPNCleveland beyond an opportunity I'm excited to pursue.

Hooley appeared on “The Really Big Show” with Tony Rizzo in the noon hour of the show to announce the news on the air.
Hooley said he would be joining a “syndicated morning show,” but could not reveal the details yet.
As a result, ESPN Cleveland will extend Aaron Goldhammer and Emmett Golden’s show, “The GoldenBoyz” to a third hour, as the program will go from 3 to 6 pm.
Munch Bishop’s “ESPN Cleveland Tonight” will start an hour earlier and go from 6 to 9 pm.

Can’t think of a bigger loss for 850 WKNR. Besides Rizzo, Hooley was the only professional broadcast/radio personality on the station. Ever since the station started getting rid of quality people 2-3 years ago, and with the promotion of liberal whine-baby who expresses his radical liberal beliefs on air in a community that doesn’t want to hear it, it has been downhill for this floundering station. The station always was 2nd rate, now they are left with one go to show (RBS).

Yep… I’ll told you so! Where are all those haters wanted Irving traded for Chris Paul?
That’s including media writers and radio personality (Bruce Hooley) who left and went back to Columbus.
Bruce was wrong about Irving and had to eat crow.
I love it!

Hoolz was smart, well-researched , provocative and classy. He is incisive and ordinarily supports his opinions withy fact, whether popular or not. He was an asset to WKNR and most assuredly will be missed. Good luck, Bruce!
